This is a really great response to one of the biggest jokes about high school. It was in a Gordon B. Hinckley talk.
"We had in the United States a newspaper columnist named Abigail Van Buren. Her writings are published in papers across the world, including our own Deseret News. She is one of those who gives advice to the troubled. You know the kind. A young lady wrote her and said that her boyfriend wanted her to 'prove her love', and this was Abby’s response. It is plainspoken, but I think it is good.
Said Abby, 'Girls need to prove their love through illicit sexual relations like a moose needs a hat rack. Why not prove your love by sticking your head in the oven and turning on the gas or by playing leapfrog in the traffic? It’s about as safe.
'Clear the cobwebs out of your head. Any fellow who asks you to prove your love is trying to take you for the biggest, most gullible fool who ever walked. That proving bit is one of the oldest and rottenest lines ever invented.
'Does he love you? It doesn’t sound like it. Someone who loves you wants whatever is best for you. But now figure it out. He wants you to commit an immoral act, surrender your virtue, throw away your self-respect, risk the loss of your precious reputation, and risk getting into trouble. Does that sound as though he wants what is best for you? This is the laugh of the century. He wants what he thinks is best for him; he wants a thrill he can brag about at your expense. Love? Who’s kidding whom? A guy who loves a girl would sooner cut off his right arm than hurt her. In my opinion, this self-serving so-and-so has proved that he doesn’t love you.
'The predictable aftermath of proof of this kind always finds Don Juan tiring of his sport. That’s when he drops you, picks up his line, and goes casting elsewhere for bigger and equally silly fish.
'If he loves you, let him prove his love by marching you to the altar."
I think that’s pretty good for Abby…

I wish I had talent
I saw this group on tv and they are AMAZING!!!! It is so fantastic! They are called Celtic Woman (yes, I know, I didn't make a grammatical error--it is indeed womAn). Their website is www.celticwoman.com
The one with really long blonde hair is only 16!!! That's about the same age as me! I wish I had fantastic singing abilities. I am only medocre. Not even "select" apparently. Anyway, here is a clip of these awesome girls.

AHHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!
AHHAAHAHHAH!!!HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS COMES OUT JULY 21 2007!!!! I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED!!!!!!!! AHHAAHAHHAH!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I AM STAYING UP TILL MIDNIGHT WITH THIS ONE. I am so excited but a little sad too. It will be hard to say goodbye to Harry. No more of the anticipation of waiting for the next book to come out. No more reading books for the first time. It's like a part of my life will have wilted. I think I will go through Harry-withdrawl. So, I laugh and I cry today for good ol' Harry.
The movie comes out July 13, 2007. I am excited for that too, but there are some things that I don't like in the previews:
1. Dolores Umbridge is actually cute. She should be evil looking--not like an adorable librarian.
2. Sirius sounds like a chipmunk.
3. Harry has an incredibly thick neck.

ZOTS! ZOTS EVERYWHERE!
Today we got the pack to make Rachel's invitations and they came with these little things called "Zots" that are these little round adhesive dots. They are like super glue. Or ultra fast drying cement. We keep finding them everywhere!!!! On the counter, on our clothes, and on our skin. It hurts. An actual quote from Kathleen A., "These are nasty little buggers. They'll take your skin right off!" Mom is so cute. But I just got a Zot in my mouth. It was horrible!!! It tasted disgusting and I had to like scrape it off my teeth. Ugggghhh... I think I will be having nightmares about Zots tonight.

Class of 2008?
I went to my guidance counselor today to set up my schedule and he told me I could graduate early!!! Do I want to do it? I don't really know! I think I will talk to some cousins that have done it, talk to a BYU admissions person, my guidance counselor, my family, my friends, and PRAY!!! It is exciting but kind of scary, to just move on with my life a whole year early. Leave behind the kids I have gone through the years of schooling with--HA!! AS IF!! No, I will miss people: Michael. One. I don't know. I already summed up as well as I can, so here is some of a conversation Rachel and I had on gmail.
me: I have always wanted to get out of high school and sometimes I get serious senor-itis, but now that I am presented with the option it is kinda scary
So, that is about all I can say on the subject! I feel restless and antsy about this right now, so I will give updates as I feel like it!
