Things about Nashy so far.

So I figured I should update this here bloggity blog for everyone at home (aka mom. hi mom!). Here are just some lazy points about Nashville thus far.

1. Work. Work is good! I'm not legally allowed to say anything. But suffice it to say it is as good as working for free can be :) I'll give it a 7/10. But nothing will be a perfect 10 because working stinks in general.

2. Nashyville! Nashville is SOOOO cool. It's way better than I had hoped. The city is super nice! Or at least all the parts I have been to. My work is on music row, which is small and full of trees and is quiet. Which is surprising for what a big, profitable, and busy industry it is. It seriously looks like a street in Scotia. My office is slow and right off the highway. But if you go about 4 blocks you get to a big ol' downtown, complete with the Batman AT&T building, Bridgestone Arena, country music Hall of Fame, big pinnacle building, etc. It looks like a really nice, and pretty big sized city. This is basically what it looks like:

It really has the best of all worlds. You've got a big, prosperous downtown with tons and tons to see, then it's quiet about 4 blocks from that. And then where I live looks totally rural. And that's all within about a 15 minute drive.

So far it's been a lot of fun. I have been a teensy bit homesick, but not too bad. It's only for a few months. So far I have seen country music hall of fame: 

Walked down Broadway (which was kind of sketchy. It's still cool, but I'd probably have more fun there if there was a guy with me ha.): 

Walked through the Music City Walk of Fame park and ate my first city hot-dog-from-a-stand: 

Walked across the famous pedestrian bridge and took is the delightful views of the wonderfully brown Cumberland river. Now isn't that pretty.

Went to a broadcast of the world's oldest radio station, wmn 650, the radio station that started the Grand Ole Opry and made country music and Nashville famous!

The band that played is three mormons called Due West. When they're learned I was interning from BYU they were all really excited. They're called Due West because they all hail from the west in Utah, Arizona, and Wyoming. And their tour manager actually lives right by Raqol in Lehi and flies out to Nashville every week. They've been really nice to me, brought me to their radio show, introduced me to their wives, etc. They release their first single which is like 40th on the charts right now, so they're doing pretty well. Hopefully they'll make it. Here is a video of a song they played on the show. They're almost bluegrassy, so dad might like them!

And here are the only two pictures I have of me here so far. One is of my first fancy pants city hot dog. Fancy pants because it was way overpriced. And the one of the right is at the spot where we had my 4th birthday party at a park in Brentwood.

Anyway, that's about all I've got! I'm too lazy to proofread and realign my pictures. I miss everyone!
